ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
This will take place at The Red Lion, Beaminster on Sunday 22nd May 2011 with registration commencing at 7:30pm and the meeting to start promptly at 8pm. It is hoped that every existing venue and team (and any prospective new venue/team for next season) will send at least one representative (preferably landlord/landlady and captain). The agenda, reproduced below, will be sent out well before the meeting so that everyone will have a chance to see any proposals for next season in advance and discuss the details with their teams to give some thought as to how they might wish to vote on the night. As before there will be one vote for each team that attends and a simple majority will prevail. AGENDA 1. Registration (Kim): Sign in and collect information and voting card (Voting: 1 vote per team) 2. Welcome (Peter) 3. Treasurer's Report (Perry): a) Entry fees 2011 - 2012 season - £30 plus £20 Bond (unless already held - repayable at end of season provided team remains in league) b) Summer League fees - £20 (unless entries minimal in which case we will do without proper trophies) c) Cups: Singles & Doubles entry fee rise to £3 per player? 4. Fixtures Secretary (Kim) a) Postponed Matches Dates for next season (free weeks) to continue with one in each half or reduce to just one in second half? b) Dates for Summer Competition? - Suggest start 12th or 19th June (depending on numbers) - Same rules as last year? c) Entry for teams in Winter League 2011-2012 - Registration Forms handed out - return by 14th August. - Start 2nd October? d) Score Card Options - card/telephone/both? Both captains to send in? e) Local Rule amendments to vote on - How strict to be on late results penalty? 5. Rules Secretary (Tony): a) World Rules? b) If not, consider proposed minor amendments/clarifications. c) Points System - stick with points per frame or change to 2 points a Win, 1 point a Draw - (if the latter we will need to reconsider the point penalties for Local Rule infringements). 6. Cup Secretary (Kevin): a) Retain League Fixture/Scores Booklet? b) For Team Cups - continue with first team drawn plays at home? 7. Committee for 2010-2011 Season. a) New League Secretary b) New Division 1 Representative - nominations? c) New Division 2 Representative - nominations? d) Remaining Committee members - re-elect or new nominees? e) Proposals and vote 8. Issues/AOB (Peter) Finals venue(s) 2011/12 and beyond 9. Vote of Thanks. (Peter) |
